Some time ago I’ve been experimenting with the processing and display of RSS feeds within Impromptu. As a result I built a small app for Mac OSX that retrieves the news feed from The Guardian online and displays on a canvas. There’re a thousand improvements that could be done to it still, but the core of the application is there.
I tested the app only on intel-based macs, so I can't guarantee it'll work anywhere else. Use the ‘show package contents’ command in the Finder to see the source code. If you know your way around the Impromptu environment, it's quite easy to modify and run the code yourself!
