I went to see Hayden Thorpe for the first time the other night at Pordenone's Ex-Convento Live venue (Italy). It's quite funny because I had never heard of this musician before last week. I just ran into him on Spotify and immediately felt it was so introspective and inspiring, full of simple yet deep melodies. I loved the performance and am looking forward to seeing more of him!

A little interactive experiment..
A lyric collage built from Hayden Thorpe's 2019 album Diviner. Phrases cut from all nine songs are scattered across the screen like torn newspaper clippings — move your mouse to illuminate them, click any fragment to read the full song on Genius.
The piece runs entirely in the browser with no server: layout, sound, and interaction are generated in pure HTML and JavaScript. Audio is synthesised on the fly using the Web Audio API — a soft paper-flick when you brush a phrase, and occasional minor-pentatonic tones drifting in from the edges as the collage quietly stirs around you.
